Today I am excited to be relocating for the day to Lamington Drive’s new pop-up gallery at Chadstone Shopping Centre! Throughout this year (2011) I’ve been working from Lamington Drive / Pin-up Gallery and am more than happy to be working from the beautiful new space! Lamington Drive Chadstone will be inspiring shoppers over the next 12 months with Jacky Winter Artists.

Creating Shared Value

Creating Shared Value is an Inclusive Business Summit presented by Business for Millennium Development (B4MD), taking place in Melbourne and Sydney in October 2011. Early this year I developed the brand identity and collateral for the event, as well as building and maintaining the website.

The Locavore Edition

The Locavore Edition is a Field Guide to Victorian Produce. Sprouting from a workshop developed by OpenIDEO and Ewan McEoin, we’re working with a team of talented journalism interns to produce the first Locavore Edition – to be released in late 2011 / early 2012. The project is managed by Ewan McEoin, designs by Matthew Angel, and I’m working to coordinate the interns and material.

Graphic Architecture – Pin-up

Pin-up welcomed Warren Taylor of The Narrows as curator for Graphic Architecture. The exhibition featured local and international contributions of resonant printed material connected to the field of architecture. Curated as a series of ‘clusters’, the collection revealed key moments where the relationship between architecture and the printed form have combined to communicate an explicit architectural intent beyond the traditional boundaries of the profession.

Melbourne Open House

This year I worked on a great project – Melbourne Open House – a worldwide initiative to Open Doors of some of the best buildings in Melbourne. I worked along side Emma Telfer as Marketing Communications Coordinator – working to produce website and print content, manage social media and partner relations, as well as assisting with the event production.

Melbourne Open House took place on the 30/31 July 2011, and will be on again in 2012 on the 27/28 July.

Cambodian Children’s Painting Project

Earlier this year, I spent 6 weeks volunteering in an incredible organisation in Cambodia called the Cambodian Children’s Painting Project, where we worked teaching the kids english, running activities and doing art. It is a fantastic initiative offering children and families safety, protection and a fun learning environment. Whilst we were there, we rebuilt their website and generated some new design collateral, as well as run a photosoot with the kids!

A friend of mine came to me with the proposal of starting up his own Crepe stand at Melbourne University – part uni task, part entrepreneurial project. We worked together to create the branding and identity for Crepes a la Carte, working to capture the tradition of crepe making, in a new, modern environment.

State of Design Festival

In 2010 I completed a 6 month Communications Internship at the State of Design festival. This was my introduction to working in events, managing social media and website content, liaising with clients and working with deadlines, not to mention meeting the most amazing people.
